Vietnam strengthens import of pesticides

Vietnam's agriculture news reported on November 3 that according to the data of Vietnam's General Administration of customs, the amount of pesticides and raw materials imported by Vietnam reached US $650 million in the first nine months of 2021, a year-on-year increase of 22.2% over 2020.

China is the main source of pesticides and raw materials to Vietnam. From January to September, the amount of pesticides and raw materials exported by China to Vietnam reached US $290 million, a year-on-year increase of 22%, accounting for 45% of the total amount of pesticides and raw materials imported by Vietnam. It is worth noting that the amount of pesticides imported by Vietnam from India and Singapore is also increasing significantly. In the first nine months of 2021, the amount of pesticides and raw materials imported by Vietnam from India reached US $79 million, a year-on-year increase of 41.9%, accounting for 13.3% of Vietnam's total pesticide imports; The amount of pesticides imported from Singapore was US $51 million, a year-on-year increase of 16.8%, accounting for 13.3% of Vietnam's total pesticide imports.
