Although novel coronavirus pneumonia has a serious impact on agricultural production, Vietnam's exports of farm and forestry products still amounted to $35 billion 500 million in the first 9 months of this year, up 17.7% from the same period last year. Among them, the export of forest products reached US $11.97 billion.
Vietnam's agricultural industry maintained a momentum of growth and consolidated its position as a pillar industry of national socio-economic development.
The Ministry of agriculture and rural development said that in the first nine months of this year, many production and operation plans had completed or exceeded the established targets. The agricultural sector has done a good job in ensuring grain and food supply to meet domestic consumption and export demand. Agricultural, forestry and aquatic products have achieved growth in both export volume and export volume.
In the first nine months of this year, the agricultural trade surplus exceeded US $3.3 billion. The United States, China, Japan and South Korea are the four major export markets of agricultural, forestry and aquatic products in Vietnam.
The agricultural sector strives to achieve the goal of a growth rate of 2.5% to 2.8% and a total export of US $44 billion in 2021. Therefore, from now until the end of the year, the Ministry of agriculture and rural development will focus on four measures to resume production, namely, promoting production and market development, promoting the sales of agricultural products, and solving the problems of difficult funds and employment of agricultural product processing enterprises.
