The federal government of Canada proposed a new "marijuana strategy table" in a new budget document released on Thursday to liaise with legitimate marijuana industry enterprises. The budget also proposes potential changes to Canada's federal marijuana excise tax system. The proposed strategy table is described as "an ongoing dialogue with businesses and stakeholders in the cannabis industry". According to the budget document, it will "provide the government with an opportunity to listen to industry leaders and identify ways to work together to develop Canada's legal marijuana industry".
