The New Jersey regulator (CRC) began accepting applications for entertainment marijuana retail licenses this week and received nearly 200 applications on the first day. According to the news released by CRC, the first batch of retail licenses are reserved for "social equity enterprises, diversified enterprises, microenterprises and conditional license applicants". New Jersey governor Phil Murphy said in late February that adult marijuana sales were expected to begin in the state "within a few weeks".
