Los Angeles fights illegal marijuana dealers through the badge grant program

Marijuana retailers in Los Angeles will soon be able to display an official badge to show customers that they are running a state licensed business. According to the city news agency, the badge will only be issued to the legal distribution and store cannabis enterprises that have passed the inspection. The Los Angeles authorized marijuana store badge program aims to combat unlicensed marijuana stores and products sold in these stores that have not been tested for mold or other pollutants in the laboratory. The plan is expected to be implemented later this year. The Los Angeles badge program is a supplement to a California law enacted in early 2020 that requires all licensed cannabis products to carry a QR code.
