American Marijuana companies are now tentatively entering the European market.
This year, we have witnessed some major initiatives. The main participant in the United States, curaleaf, is in the leading position, while other companies such as gencanna and Texas entrepreneur Lorne abony seize the opportunities in the UK. Although driven by the acquisition of Emmac by curraleaf for $407 million, its total transaction value has far exceeded the $600 million mark, and the surge in transaction activity seems to indicate that something is about to happen.
Antonio Costanzo, CEO of curaleaf international, said in an interview with marijuana business last month that the acquisition of Emmac was an important opportunity for both companies and "laid a foundation for the group's expansion in Europe outside the United States".
