Tajikistan reduces imports of wheat and flour

Dushanbe, Avista news agency of Tajikistan, reported on August 31 that according to the Ministry of economy and trade of Tajikistan, in the first seven months of this year, the import of flour in Tajikistan was 25000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 50% or 25000 tons, and the import of wheat was about 520000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.2%. Kazakhstan is the main supplier of imported flour and wheat to Tajikistan.

At present, about 90% of the domestic flour demand in Tajikistan depends on domestic production (processing). Since the beginning of this year, Tajikistan has produced 795000 tons of wheat.
