Russian satellite news agency, Moscow, September 10 - kucherov, director of the strategic Exchange Department of the Russian agricultural export development center (agroexport), told the satellite news agency that Russia believes that there are prospects for exporting agricultural products to Africa and is formulating a strategy for exporting agricultural products to African countries.
Kucherov said that Russia attaches great importance to exporting agricultural products to Africa. Only one of Russia's top ten agricultural exporters is an African country, Egypt. According to the United Nations report in 2019, many people in Africa are still short of food, more than any other region. About 20% of the residents in Africa and more than 250 million people are short of food for a long time.
"We are developing a comprehensive strategy for exporting food, oil products, candy and dairy products to Africa. We will also study the prospects for exporting meat products because cheap poultry will be popular in Africa," he said
"Africa is a diversified region, including high-income countries such as Morocco and Egypt and poor countries south of Sahara. Each country needs a separate strategy," he said
As of September 5, the export volume of Russian agro industrial complex products was US $20.54 billion, an increase of 17% over the same period in 2020. The fastest growth was in exports from the oil sector (44%), meat and dairy products (26%) and cereals (15%).
