Iran's agricultural trade deficit in the first half of the year was US $6.19 billion

The financial Tribune reported on October 31 that the data released by Iran's Ministry of agriculture showed that in the first half of the Islamic calendar (March 21 to September 22), the country's agricultural products exported US $2.33 billion, imported US $8.52 billion, and the trade deficit was US $6.19 billion. 

Compared with the same period last year, the export volume decreased by 10.37% and the import volume increased by 69.77%. The main exported agricultural products are pistachios, tomatoes, watermelons, dates, apples and potatoes. Feed corn, genetically modified soybeans, soybean meal, wheat and rice account for an important proportion of imported agricultural products.
