The era of buying marijuana when you fill up has arrived in the United States - at least in Florida. Green Thumb Industries (GTI), one of the largest multi-state operators in the U.S., has signed an agreement with Circle K, one of the world's largest convenience store chains, that allows cannabis companies to lease space and open medical marijuana dispensaries near Circle K in Florida. Chicago-based Green Thumb Industries said in a press release Wednesday it plans to open about 10 stores across the state in 2023 to begin testing and rollout. Bethany Gomez, managing director of the Brightfield Group, a cannabis business analyst firm, said, "This is a tremendous deal, and if it's successful, I think a lot of people will be looking to replicate this model as soon as possible." Circle K is based in Vancouver, British Columbia, and has more than 600 stores in Florida.
