Detroit finally issued its first recreational marijuana license. According to crain's Detroit business daily, doghouse farms, a planting company in the east of Detroit, has obtained a license and will soon sell marijuana in the entertainment market. The company has invested about $4million in a 25000 square foot planting facility. Michigan legalized recreational marijuana sales in december2019, but the Detroit City Council did not approve its final recreational marijuana regulations until last month. Detroit allows an unlimited number of growers and 100 retail stores, half of which are reserved for social justice applicants.
