American Indian communities are increasingly cooperating to take a share of the explosive growth of the cannabis industry by providing products based on tribal medicine of their ancestral origin. Three American Indian tribes - the Mohawk and the Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes - announced an agreement this fall to use 500000 acres for marijuana cultivation. The Native American Marijuana Alliance (NACA) is expected to begin discussions between indigenous farmers and commercial brands this fall with the goal of preparing for the growing season in 2022.
